James is a Social Entrepreneur, the Founder of Jireh Community Projects, self-sustaining community based project which started out from his home in Mitchell’s Plain in 1989.  James G Louw has been involved in community work for 26 years, and has 31 years of hands-on business management experience.   

Throughout James’s brilliant professional career, he has consistently demonstrated the vision, dedication and diligence necessary to be among the best. James has been internationally recognized and awarded for his efforts in the community. He received the community initiative 35K award. In 1998 the Nelson Mandela Award was awarded to James on behalf of Jireh community projects. In 2013 James Louw received the Johnnie Walker / Sunday Times Award for “The Nation’s Greatest Community Leader”. In 2014 James Louw was received the Paul Harris award by Rotary International.

Since inception, Jireh has been at the forefront of serving the community of Mitchell’s Plain and surrounding areas through social upliftment initiatives, focussed on families and individuals alike.

James’s efforts have made Jireh a household name in Mitchell's Plain, in the community, city and country.
